Do You Have These Swing Faults

Below are 3 common swing faults that can vary degrees of affect on your golf performance which can be an indication of a mechanical issue that can be easily connected.

Posture in the average golfer can cause changes in swing efficiency.

This swing fault above is categorized as the Chicken Wing.

Can You Do These Basic Movement Tests?

If you cannot complete these 3 basic movements without experiencing pain or full range of motion, then your golf swing is not working optimally.

This basic movement is known as the Seated Trunk Rotation Test.

This is the 90/90 test triggering the range of motion in the shoulder.

Dr. Tarkanyi is one of the first medical practitioners to reach level 3 of the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certification in Michigan. The TPI is the world’s leading educational organization dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing.

The TPI golf movement assessment that Dr. Tarkanyi uses is designed to be performed on any individual despite age, sex, and level of golf skill. The screen identifies mechanical issues in the joints, soft tissue, strength and stability issues within the muscles, and common swing faults unique to your body. When performing the TPI certified education program, it will determine which body function is limiting the efficiency of the perfect swing.

The most efficient swing is not the same for every golfer, because efficiency is unique to their body. To achieve an efficient swing, a golfer must first be screened. The screen involves an assessment of swing mechanics and biomechanics, physical fitness, movement quality, current health and a client history.  Once this screen is finished, the results are used to create a plan unique for that golfer. The plan may include fitness training, active release technique therapy and chiropractic golf injury treatment, coaching of swing mechanics and biomechanics, nutrition, mental strategy or all of the above. Dr. Karl will communicate his findings with your golf professional to ensure that the instruction of their golf swing is guided by what the golfer can physically do.
